Police officer injured in shooting during a traffic stop in North Kansas City

Northern Kansas City, Mo. - Missouri Highway Patrol officials issued a "blue alert" Tuesday after a Police officer injured in shooting, during a traffic stop in North Kansas City.


 Tuesday's alert appears to have been issued from just north of Kansas City, Missouri.

Help police find a gray Ford Taurus with Missouri license plate 03GU43, according to a blue Highway Patrol alert around 11 a.m.

The officer stopped the indicated vehicle near 21st Street and Clay Street in North Kansas City, according to radio traffic by Broadcastify.

A moment later, an emergency alert tone appeared in the devices of the police radio.

Looking for a gray Ford Taurus with the temporary Missouri badge 03GU43.
Only the driver was identified as a white man with brown hair and an unknown firearm.

That driver got out of the car and started shooting the officer, according to the blue alert.

The suspected driver, was last seen traveling west from 21st Street and Clay Street.

Anyone with any information on this specific vehicle or suspect is asked to call 911 immediately.
